Elizabeth McIlvaine, PhD is a biostatistician with over 10 years of industry experience in clinical research and drug development, formerly supporting programs at Ipsen, Exelixis, Kite Pharma and Amgen as well as being a staff statistician at the Children's Oncology Group. Her therapeutic experience spans oncology, ophthalmology, hepatology, and gene-editing therapeutics. Dr. McIlvaine trained at California State University graduating with a Masters in Applied Statistics and then went on to receive her PhD in Biostatics from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.
As founder of Aurelium Biostatistics, LLC, and in partnership with Arc Nouvel, she provides strategic and operational biostatistics support to small and emerging biotech and pharmaceutical companies, with a focus on early-phase and first-in-human clinical studies. Dr. McIlvaine partners closely with sponsors to develop sound statistical strategies, author and execute analysis plans, and deliver high-quality submission-ready results.
In addition to her technical expertise, she provides comprehensive CRO oversight — including quality control, personnel vetting, budget review, and proactive project monitoring — to help sponsors maintain timelines, manage costs, and ensure data integrity throughout the trial lifecycle.
